Subsequently entering production date in EWS

For vehicles with vehicle orders, the production date is stored in the vehicle order. It is not possible to change the production date in the vehicle order.

The customer service data are stored in the control unit for the electronic vehicle immobilization system. This data includes the central encoding code ZCS and the production date of the vehicle that is entered at the end of the assembly line.

Under certain circumstances it is possible that this production date is not entered in the customer service data. Such situations include the installation of a new control unit without being able to adopt the customer service data from the old control unit.

The absence of the production date causes termination of the automatic vehicle identification procedure. The model year cannot be determined automatically for these vehicles thus making it necessary for the diagnosis user to carry out manual selection. This problem can be remedied by subsequently entering the production date in the customer service data.
